Bahrain: Royal Team's achievement in world endurance praised

MALAYSIAN ambassador to Bahrain Syed Sultan Idris congratulated the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation on winning third place overall in the World Endurance Horseride Championship which concluded recently in Terengganu, Malaysia.

Idris praised the performance of the Bahraini team in the event, specially the team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa who was eighth individually among more than 200 of the world's top riders.

Shaikh Nasser, who is also Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) president, led a six-member team in this world event which was over 160km.

Other team members were Breef first vice-president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Ghazi Al Dossary, Yousif Taher, Raed Mahmood and Ahmed Abdulla.

"In welcoming back both Shaikh Nasser and Shaikh Khalid, it gives me great pleasure to convey my heartiest congratulations to Shaikh Nasser and the Royal Endurance Team's outstanding achievement in the World Championship," said Idris.

"The bronze medal achieved by the Bahrain Endurance Team in this prestigious event adds another gem to Bahrain's recent achievements in the international sports arena. I wish Bahrain a continued success, not only in the sporting events, but also in all other activities," added Idris.

"I am confident that the Royal team's recent participation in Malaysia will add impetus to the already existing good relations between our two brotherly countries. It is also my sincere hope that both Shaikh Nasser and Shaikh Khalid had a memorable experience in Malaysia."
